Napalm Death w/The Haunted and Huge Baby 7/11/98
Missed Huge Baby, but these things happen. We got there just before The Haunted put on their 'atmosphric' intro music- 5 minutes of noises, probably meant to be scary but not. Maybe it's to make the band sound better I thought. The band started. Come back intro music! All is forgiven! The Haunted are a low quality thrash band, formed from the ashes of At The Gates, with more guitars than good songs. Mindless mosh fodder is all they could manage. Before Napalm Death, the DJ elected to play some hip hop. Why, we're not quite sure, but it worked! Napalm Death were amazing tonight, electing to play stuff from all of their albums. Barney was pissed off that his beloved Aston Villa had 'wasted 5million' Dion Dublin, but still had a bizarre grin on his face. There was a heckler who kept insisting that he'd been into Napalm Death longer than Barney, so he and Barney took the piss out of each other all night! They closed the set with 4 ultra fast songs, ending with their amazing version of 'Nazi Punks Fuck Off'! But they didn't play 'Plague Rages'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still good though!
